Billionaire Guatam Adani Faces Charges in $265M Bribery Charges

Guatam Adani speaking

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating Guatam Adani and his conglomerate over allegations of a $265M bribery scheme involving improper payments to secure favourable treatments in Indian energy projects. Adani’s companies lost more than $28 billion of market value on Thursday morning, following his indictment by US prosecutors on Wednesday.

Kenya has also decided to cancel deals worth $2.5 billion with Adani. Despite the Adani Group denying the allegations and calling the investigation a “baseless move”, this one will be hard to shake off, regardless of the outcome.

Google Chrome For Sale. Any Bidders?

Google is facing huge pressure from the U.S Department of Justice to sell off their Chrome browser.

The DOJ thinks the browser contributes to Google’s monopolistic practices in search and online advertising. I mean it’s true, there has been a number of times when Google has been acting sus with the search results I have been getting, but if they were to sell the browser, I honestly don’t see that changing.

Anyways, the next trial will be in 2025, but whatever they decide on doing, one thing is for sure, I can’t live whithout Google Chrome and chances are, its the same for you too.

Amazon’s $4 billion dollar thumbs up👍

On Friday, Amazon announced it will be investing an additional $4 billion into OpenAI rival, Anthropic. This will take Amazon’s total investment in the tech company torwards $8 billion, their largest outside investment in history.

Anthropic is responsible for building Claude, a chatbot, and various AI models. Though Claude offers good features and has found popularity amongst millions of people, I honestly don’t know anyone that uses Claude over ChatGPT, that’s just me anyways. 👀

Anthropic has also announced that AWS will be their primary training partner, in addition to continuing to be its primary cloud provider. They will also use AWS Tranium and Inferentia chips to train and deploy its future foundation models.

With all this money being pumped into the company, its no debate that Anthropic’s Claude is OpenAI’s ChatGPT’s closest rival.
